When Tropical Storm Irene pounded the state two months ago, emergency coordinators everywhere were responding as best they could. On the next Vermont Edition, we’ll discuss emergency planning, and the lessons learned during Irene. Our guests are Mike O’Neil, director of Vermont Emergency Management, and Paul Fraser, the emergency management coordinator for the town of Jamaica.

Also in the program, UVM engineer Josh Bongard describes his research into robotics and whether robots can evolve. This month Bongard received an award from President Obama for his pioneering work in robotics.

And we sneak around with a Charlotte family that’s "ghosting" their
neighbors for Halloween. It’s a growing tradition of secretly leaving
candy and treats for people, instead of taking them.
