More and more seniors are turning to adult day centers as a
way to remain independent. The centers offer daily respite for caregivers, and provide meals,
activities, and in Vermont,
medical services. However, funding is a
challenge. Medicaid covers a majority of
expenses, but a recent MetLife study cites Vermont
as having the highest adult day costs in the country. We look at what those numbers mean, and how
adult day centers fit into the future of elderly care.

Also, cases of theft or diversion of patients’ drugs by
medical health personnel are on the rise.
And the attorney general’s office is taking new steps to crack down on
it. We talk with Vermont Assistant
Attorney General Linda Purdy.

And, a new
exhibit at Dartmouth College
showcases human hair.
