As many prepare for the holidays, dozens of homeowners affected
by Tropical Storm Irene are still waiting for the funds they need to get back
on their feet. In Vermont, the
Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved buyouts of 81 properties,
but none of the owners has gotten any money yet.
Vermont transportation officials say that all state bridges damaged by Tropical Storm Irene have now been repaired or replaced, and that the state is very close to reaching its goal of opening all damaged roads by the end of the year.
