Scientists have detected increased radiation near Vermont
Yankee since the nuclear power plant boosted its power level by 20%; all the
water flowing down Vermont rivers
has helped most hydroelectric operators; the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department says it’s looking for some
help counting the state’s wild turkey population.
(Host) Late summer has been particularly dry in Vermont this year. Rainfall in August alone was two-and-a-half inches below normal. But as VPR’s Ross Sneyd reports, experts say there’s little reason for concern.
