Singer and songwriter Joe South passed away unexpectedly at age 72 at his Georgia home on September 5, 2012. Joe South’s music has been described as a potent mixture of country and soul, oftentimes with important social messages as typified by his Grammy award winning "Games People Play". Joe South also distinguished himself as a first-call session guitarist, playing on major his by Bob Dylan, Simon &Garfunkle, Aretha Franklin and others.
