Gabriel Pierne (1863-1937) may not be as well-known as other French
composers of the same era, but his chamber music is inventive,
melodious, and downright fun. We’ll hear some this afternoon, as well
as a symphony of Albert Roussel and a recent recording of Prokofiev’s
Piano Concerto #3 with Evgeny Kissin.
