Rep. Tom Stevens of Waterbury called the hotline to recommend this Saturday’s "River of Light" lantern parade in Waterbury, Vermont.

The parade begins at Thatcher Brook Elementary School at 5 p.m., with Vermont’s street samba percussionists, Sambatucada and coincides with the Annual Holiday Stroll.

Vermont musician Peg Tassey called the hotline regarding an upcoming exhibit and reception at the AVA Gallery in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

"The Way We Worked" is a traveling exhibition from the Smithsonian, which features Vermont photographer Jack Powell’s portraits of former factory workers.

Some of the people featured in the portraits worked at the Carter overall factory, which now houses the AVA Gallery.

That reception at AVA is open to the public and runs from 3 to 5 p.m., on Saturday, December 15th.

Gordon Bock called the hotline to suggest the Green Mountain Youth Symphony performances this weekend at The Barre Opera House in Barre, Vermont.
This is the premiere joint performance of these orchestras. The ensemble’s program will include holiday music and even a James Bond
medley.

There is a suggested admission of $5 for adults
at the door. Children under 18 are admitted free of charge.
